This website was created in memory of our loved one, Rosalie Salimento.
On Tuesday, April 27, 2021, Rosalie passed away peacefully at the age of 70 at her home in Merced with her family by her side.
She is survived by her two sisters Georgian (husband Harlan) and Antonia (husband Al); three children Gary Lee (girlfriend Vanessa), JoLee (husband Peter) and Rosie (husband Ben); grandchildren Jenelle (husband Ben), Peter, Anna, Tessie, Bella, Mila, Jake; great-grandchildren Remington, Evalyne, Archer, Roman, Hunter; nephews George, Joseph, Anthony, Billy, David; niece Tiffany. She is predeceased by her beloved father and mother George and Rose Salimento; great-granddaughter Monroe.
Rosalie grew up in Monterey enjoying family outings to the many lakes and recreation spots in Monterey County and surrounding areas, playing with her sisters and many cousins. She attended Monterey High School, Monterey Peninsula College, and worked for the Presidio of Monterey in civilian personnel as a Human Resources Specialist. Her 30 plus years working in government took her on adventures all over the world. She lived in Rheinberg, Germany during the ‘80s traveling everywhere in Europe. Then in the late ‘90s, Rosalie had the joy of moving to Japan, and then Korea. Rosalie settled back in Monterey during the 2000s and realized her childhood dream when she bought a horse named Maggie. Spending time on the ranch in Carmel Valley where she boarded Maggie was one of the highlights of her life. Other happy times for Rosalie were the many years she devoted to her Bette Midler club, raising money for charity, and sending care packages to our troops overseas. She was also involved with the PTA for her kids and volunteered many hours to coaching their sports and assisting in fundraisers. Her beautiful smile will always be remembered, and the big heart Rosalie opened to her friends and family will be missed greatly.
