This memorial website was created in loving memory of Claire Gendron, 94, who was born on December 3, 1925 and passed away on August 2, 2020.
Claire was born and raised in the Springdale section of Holyoke, MA by Henry and Beatrice Carmel along with her sister Lucille. After graduating from Holyoke High School, Claire enjoyed her role as a secretary at Pal Blade and Tool Company. She married the love of her life, Ronald W. Gendron, on July 26, 1947. They enjoyed their honeymoon in New York City and moved into their cherished house in South Hadley in 1951. Ron and Claire grew their family with the additions of Ronald, Nancy, Paul, and Catherine. While their children were growing up, Ron and Claire were active in the South Hadley High School Booster Club and became longtime members of St. Anne’s Church in Chicopee.
Claire was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was the most important thing to her and she and Ron enjoyed watching their family grow throughout the years. She was a proud homemaker, whose pepper relish and meat pie were always in demand. She loved eating the cherry tomatoes and cucumbers out of Ron’s garden. Children held a special place in Claire’s heart and she delighted in interacting with them. Claire will be remembered as a friendly and generous individual who left her mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She was an exceptionally patient listener and supported many people through life’s ups and downs. Her loving legacy will live on in those whose lives she touched.
This memorial website was created in the memory of David Small, 96, who was born on August 8th, 1923 and died on July 24th, 2020. We will remember him with great love.
