The world has lost a sweet, sweet person. Sue was a delight to be with, with a wonderful sense of humor. I loved being with her and John, at IPCO gatherings. Be it tail-gate parties at A's games to the many Christmas dinners at Casa Orinda.  She was a sweetheart.
On to teaching classes in heaven!

Sue, Now in God's  arms, but always in the hearts of your loved ones.
As your former letter carrier, I enjoyed our chats about music, art and hiking.

“Those who touch our lives stay in our hearts forever”. It was a great pleasure knowing Sue, will always remember her cheerful smile and her favorite  red lipstick… smudge free as she would say:).  I admired her positive attitude, her strength and endurance through out. A lovely person who will be deeply missed. May you rest in Peace.

It was a lucky thing Sue and I retired at the same time. We enjoyed her and John's three visits to Guatemala, sightseeing, eating, hanging out. I loved Sue's enthusiasm and I loved watching her record our adventures in her journal. Her strength and positive attitude were admirable. I will miss you, Sue, but I am glad to have all those memories of our times in Guatemala and in California.

It was such a privilege to work with Sue for so many years. She was a very intelligent, caring, helpful, and kind person.  I will always remember her quiet elegance. Although I have not seen her since retirement, I did hear of her illness and her adventures with mutual friends. I admired the way she lived life to the fullest as long as she was able.  My condolences to her family.

From my last email exchange with Sue:  Sarlat was wonderful...so was Sea Ranch, Shelter Cove was mostly wonderful (so windy one day...)...we saw great art and good movies together...met different people, thought about many different things, ate some great meals (especially at your house) . Thank you for all those things, and more....

Book club, cooking club, film studies, gardening projects. Talk. My friendship of over 50 years with Sue was one of the great joys of my life; her passing one of the great sadnesses.

Sue was the kindest, hardest working, most dedicated member of our Deer Valley staff.  She was the fearless leader of the English Department since the day we opened and spent every day working for the students, teachers and families of our school community.  She will forever be a part of our school and our lives.  We love and miss you, Ms. Tullis.
