Terry was a great friend, and colleague for a few years on the Los Gatos Town Council.  One of his sons played Little League with our son and we had great times at LL games.  His presence on the Los Gatos Town Council made meetings more fun (and more humorous). I will always remember him trying to get someone to get tacos with him atter late Council meetings.

Terry Daily was a true Irishman with the gift of gab and a warm, friendly personality.
We became acquainted in the mid seventies while practicing in the Santa Clara County courts. He always had a broad smile and, when outside of the courtroom, a large cigar in his mouth. From time to time he and others tried to recruit me into the Public Defender's Office, but I declined, although working with him would have been great fun.
I was serving on the Los Gatos Town Council in 1982 when Terry was elected to the council. We became good friends and colleagues. The council often had executive sessions preceding our regular Monday night council meetings. Executive sessions of the council with staff would be held in small conference room next to the council chamber. Terry was usually the last to arrive always smiling and joyful, with a wide grin on his face, a funny comment, an ever-present large cigar in his mouth, a bag of chips and a liter bottle of soft drink, the latter two being his dinner.
After council meetings which usually lasted past midnight and into the wee hours of the morning, he and I would try to find someplace to eat a snack, talk and unwind. Unfortunately, in those years every place to eat in town was already closed by the time our meetings ended.
Terry would tease me and my wife by claiming that in gatherings hosted by us Italians the food was great but the alcohol was just OK, whereas in gatherings hosted by him and his wife, LeeAnne, Irish, the food was just OK but the alcohol was great.
I admired Terry's natural ability to lighten a room when he entered, tell a good joke or funny story and make people relax and enjoy themselves.
Terry loved his family and enjoyed life. What could be better?
