Shawn Lyons and I met on the Appalachian Trail in 1972 when both of began hiking this National Trail from South to North.  I started the trail later than Shawn in mid-June, and met-up with Shawn in CT.  Shawn and I hiked together for about six weeks, including through the White Mountain chain of peaks, including Mt.
