Sam Lloyd will be remembered as one of the most deeply and truly religious priests I have ever known.  He was a light in many parishioners' lives here in Chicago.  His fundamental spiritual depth and Christian humility were a beacon to many, and his kind and generous counsel was a source of personal strength for my family in time of need.  His ministry was a blessing.

Caring thoughts to Marguerite and all The Very Reverend Sam Lloyd’s family. As our Teacher journeys into the ages, we are eternally grateful for Sam enriching our lives through intellect and spirit.  He joins loved ones and brethren, like Bishop Tutu. Their poignant amalgamation in the Cathedral’s space and at the Lloyd's home will remain most enriching. In peace.  Your faithful flock.

Sam's sermons brought me, as an adult convert, to the Episcopal Church.

Sam, you're in Narnia now.
Rest in Joy.
