You will be missed Bob, by  many. I am thankful for your wonderful way of showing me that you loved and appreciated me. Tom and I will feel the loss of your being in this world but look forward to when we can re unite again in the next, You raised five wonderful children and they will carry on all that you taught them each in special ways. Our hearts are saddened by your leaving this life

Bob's life was well lived, with character, kindness, creativity, and heart. I can never forget the times we met and the effect your whole being had on everyone. I am so happy to have known you and Kate even a little. The world has lost a great soul, We who knew you gained immensely from you presence. Peace and love to you and your wonderful family.

I’ve been thinking about projects we worked on together, from inch by inch renovations of our home, to restoring homes for other families with Rebuilding Together here in the bay area. I’ve done some work on my own houses since then, and I’m sure I will again. It won’t be the same, but I’ll think of him every time I measure something a second time before picking up a hammer or a saw.

He loved to cook for and enjoy meals with family and friends. As he got older I adopted the practice of visiting him and Kate on Saturday mornings to make lunch for them. I'd shop at Berkeley Bowl for whatever seemed appealing and then cook lunch for them while we sat in the sun on their back porch. It always delighted him to enjoy a glass of wine, a good meal, and lively conversation.
