I worked for Bob early in my career. Bob was demanding, but I learned more about Boston’s business and political culture, writing, media relations and event planning than anyone else in my long public relations career. Irascible at times, he knew how to get the best out of people and praise them regularly. Had a lot laughs, for sure. R.I.P. to a good man.
I worked for Bob for a short time at Robert Weiss Associates in Copley Square in the year after I graduated Harvard. He was a great boss. I learned a lot about writing press releases that has stood me on good stead ever since. He had a roster of great clients, including the Liberty Tree Mall, the Merry-Go-Round Room at the Copley Plaza, the Boston Lobsters. A wonderful man!
