We will miss our wonderful friend Rich. So kind and generous in everything he did. My husband Rock and I were so fortunate to have known and been the best of friends with him and his beautiful wife Vicky. We will remember Rich always. God Bless him for the Angel that he was to everyone he befriended here on earth. ??????
In loving memory,Rock and Olivia Dodds
Rich was such a good man! I only met him a few times, but I heard so much about him through my friend Vicky. He was a kind and loving husband to Vicky! I always enjoyed hearing stories about how they met and fell in love. It’s truly a love story! I’ll always remember Rich for the special man that he was. In loving memory, Marina
Rich’s love of poetry inspired me to find this one that you can almost hear him reading to us
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.
You sometimes hear a man called "a lovely man". Rich was such a man. He was kind, respectful, thoughtful, intelligent, and sweet. Being in his company felt calm, and peaceful. I will miss him. And I hope Vicky can feel the peace and calm that was Rich.
Vicky, my deepest sympathy to you & your family on the loss of an outstanding & wonderful friend. Rich was a kind, caring man & a good neighbor. He will be remembered for many things, but mostly for the beautiful force of his spirit & love for you. He was such a gentle soul which he expressed so beautifully in his poetry. And to you Rich, may angels walk with you today & always.Love Carole
My husband Bob and I met Rich and Vicky when we all became members of a monthly poetry reading series in Half Moon Bay, which continued for many years, As well as being a wonderful poet, who often had us all rolling in the aisles, Rich was a gentleman and a scholar, and he and Vicky some of the most generous and loving people I have ever known.
Don and I have known Vicky and Rich for almost 35 years. We couldn’t find a more loving and caring couple. Rich was Vicky’s soulmate and we are so happy that they were able to share these many years together. We started a tradition in later years to celebrate every Thanksgiving and Christmas together. Rich will always be honored at our table and fondly remembered in our hearts. Love, Linda
Dearest Vicky, your love for Rich and his heartfelt love for you

What a wonderful man. Vicky, I know your memories of your life with Rich will be a blessing that will get you through this difficult time.
The world has lost a very special soul. Rich was so kind, cheerful, thoughtful, intelligent, and sweet. Always calm, and peaceful. He will be missed by so many who knew him. Especially Vicky. You two had such a special relationship. Just know that we are here for you.
Hugs, peace and love.

I met Rich when he came to Nueva to teach third grade and where I was the Math Specialist. He was gentle and loving with each of his students. We had contests in math about which method was quicker - using blocks or doing the standard algorithm! Rich wrote wonderful plays for the students to perform like Lucky Dollar - Private Eye which everyone loved. He brought so much joy to the school!
I cherish my memories of teaching with Rich: co-leading a Lit Club; dressing up to cross the prairie; laughing til my sides hurt when he put on his fabulous musicals; happening to hear him playing the piano in a late afternoon. Rich loved his students and loved teaching. I also keep close memories of dinners and visits with Rich & Vicky, as well as his readings of his amazing poetry.
