Ralph was always willing to hear your issues and discuss proposed solutions with you. He was intelligent and well spoken. Our discussions spanned sports to science, computer companies, politics, Boston politics and local politics. His favorite on the Red Sox was Dustin Pedroia and there was no argument there. However, in 2013 we both felt the RS needed more “spark” on the team. We went to a Twins vs Red Sox spring training game and talked during the entire game about Gomes and other outfielders who were available. To make a long story short they won the AL pennant and the world series versus an exceptionally good St Louis Cardinals team. Gomes was the spark they needed and a surprisingly good clutch hitter. That afternoon was my best discussion ever with a true sports fan about the Red Sox. Thank you, Ralph, and May you Rest in Peace.
