I attended NRHS from1982-1984. Mr Richards was my baseball coach for 3 years. He was a hard nose tough coach who always got the most out of his players. He not only taught me about baseball but life itself. He was a great coach but an even better human being! He will be missed by so many people. Keep all the memories of him in your hearts and remember him forever. Scott Perkins
If you were fortunate enough to call this man "Coach", then consider yourself lucky beyond measure. Coach Richards taught us not only how to run plays in football or baseball -- but the importance of respect, teamwork, poise, discipline, planning, concentration, humility, compassion, "true" manhood, preparation, redemption....and never giving up. He has singularly helped thousands of young men and women navigate the transition from childhood to adulthood, and is unquestionably responsible (along with my own Mother and Father) for the man I am today. Years after graduating I had the opportunity to see him at my friend Mike Richards wedding and was able to say "Thank You" - a moment that is even more meaningful to me now that he has passed. Coach, I love you and thank you for the amazing gift you gave me - and so many of us. Godspeed.
Had the pleasure of being coached by Pete as an NRHS football player, and as a colleague at Nashoba when working with Pete for several years
A steady presence and a committed professional in both regards
