This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Paul Gargano. We will remember him forever.
It is with great sadness to learn of my uncle Paul’s passing. Although I have lost touch with him over the years I have loving childhood memories of my uncle Paul, his big laugh, bright-blue eyes, sharp wit, and his willingness to be of help. He took me in as a troubled teen when I needed a safe haven. My time living with my uncle and aunt helped shape my life for the better.
Uncle Paul was more than a successful attorney he was a devoted family man, he was happiest surrounded by his family. My uncle was a man of tremendous faith; he often said he seriously thought of becoming a priest. He remained steadfast in his Catholic faith throughout his life.
Uncle Paul was a man of many talents, he was a sea dog; never without a boat, he loved to fish and be by the ocean. He could grow anything; his gardens were the envy of his neighbors. He made wine from home grown grapes, he shared only with his special friends. Uncle Paul fancied himself an amateur design architect; each house he and my aunt bought he redesigned to become a showcase of beauty and function. My Uncle had a passion for thoroughbred horse breeding and racing, owning a stable and champion horses at one time. Christmas was his favorite time of year; his live Christmas trees were something to behold...
My uncle was a loving son to his mother, my grandmother, Mary Gargano, no matter how busy his life became he always made time to visit his mother every week.
I admired my uncle for his insatiable thirst for knowledge, always reading and debating his knowledge, he inspired others to learn, he was a history teacher while attending law school at nights. Uncle Paul was the youngest of his siblings; his father died when he was 19-years old, my father, John Gargano, was 13 years his senior, and my aunt Lucy was somewhere in the middle, yet he exceeded his brother and sister in his intelligence and his drive to succeed; he was the first in his Italian immigrant family to attend college.
My uncle’s success and large life was a huge source of pride for my father, unfortunatly, over the years his pride turned to envy and then resentment. I will end with a quote from the Lord’s Prayer...Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
My sincere condolences to my aunt Sheila and my cousins Alison and Melissa.
To Mrs Gargano and family, as Parishoners at Our Lady of Victory, we were acquainted with Mr Gargano. He was gracious enough to provide legal counsel to us in a time of need. He was kind, friendly, smart and engaging. I am heartbroken for all of you losing your two Pauls in succession. Prayers and Peace to all of you now and always. Maryellen and John Loucks
