So sad to just now learn of Patrick's passing.  I saw him only a few times, but always enjoyed his humor and friendly discussions of math.  Me, only a tinkerer, and he the master, but always patient and helpful.  What a great guy.  The world is a little slower and darker without him.  May he rest in peace.

Pat was a great co-worker at Prime Computer, both intellectually, with science fiction, and a sense of humor. Though I am four years late learning of his passing, he did make a difference in my life, helping my career by rescuing me from bad management to a new position where I excelled. For that, I will always remember time, despite the time and distance. Fair sailing Pat.
