My earliest memory of friend Mark was watching him play rugby at UCSC.  He would   kick his knees up high and instead of trying to run around his opponent, he would try and run through him.   Up at his Swanton Rd. home he once came home to find the cows in what was left of his vegetable garden.  He took a 2X4 to that cow.  Fun camping and fishing always with Critter!.  Larry Wagner

Camping adventures make for wonderful memories for us. Running into you guys randomly in Joshua Tree or something delicious out of the dutch oven. But for Jim, nothing tops the day fishing in Oregon where the guys caught more fish than they could ever hope for. He has had that photo on our bulletin board for what looks to be 20 years by the age of the kids.Faded picture but vivid memories!

Mark and I went way back. We met on the UCSC rugby pitch in 1972,  began working construction together then and even formed a partnership that built several custom homes in Santa Cruz. He was always, and I mean always, a stand up guy...salt of the earth . Smart, dependable, and quick with a laugh. And he usually bought more than his share of beer after work.

I still remember how excited I was when I heard Mark was transferring to UCSC. He was as good a back as we had in the first 10 years. Mark was a coaches dream, never seeking the spotlight, yet always ready to do what was needed without drama. He also worked on my dome with Dan, so I kjnew hin pretty well.  He was a fine man,who will be sorely missed

I lit up when ever I ran in to Mark. The man was loved no doubt and the world is less shiny for his loss.

Mark has been so kind and wonderful with my kids, welcoming them into his home so fully that I think my kids actually thought the Corwin home was their second home. When they finally sold it and moved to the beach, Kai and Zoe thought it was so weird to have "strangers" in the Corwin house! LOL. We will never forget all the wonderful swim sessions and hangouts! Thank you Mark!

Mark was a wonderful neighbor! He loved to follow the SF Giants. Every time I went over there he had the game on. I really enjoyed just shooting the breeze with him. He seemed so satisfied with where he was in life. That was really comforting to me. He was so excited about his new beach house. Leaving all the yard work behind seemed like the perfect move. I'll miss is warm inviting spirit.

I've known Mark ever since he met Terry, his beloved wife and my cousin. He was such a kind man, with a huge heart. He was smart, curious, loved to learn and was always a pleasure to be around. He made Terry so happy and was a terrific dad. He always had an interesting creative project or two in the works. I will miss him very much.

Gutted by this sudden & tragic news. I always enjoyed spending time with Mark back when we had family vacations/reunions together. He was incredibly likable & I enjoyed his company immensely. He was the man with a calm presence. The man with the ever-present beard. And the man with the easy smile. I & the rest of my family have great memories of him & will miss him dearly.

Matt and I want to give you our deepest sympathy for the loss of your beloved Mark Corwin. I remember he was always a very hard-working and creative man. You have a wonderfully close family unit, your Corwin clan. Mark was so helpful to Virginia Porter after RAP had passe away. We will always have fond memories of the gatherings that we were once part of in past times. May he RIP.
