I left Alaska in 2004 after 40 years in the state, and whenever I felt homesick, I would seek out the latest Sue Henry mystery novel, and I greatly enjoyed the adventures I found there. I was glad she became so successful, and am deeply sorry to learn of her death. Her talent as a writer brightened the lives of her readers.  I'm glad she was with us for so long.

Sue was one of the friendliest authors I ever met during my time as part owner of Foul Play Mystery Bookstore. She even picked me up at Anchorage airport when I flew in to join a tour; and we talked every time she came to Malice Domestic muster conference. The world has lost a shining light. My sympathies to her family. Judy Cross

I never met Sue except through her books, thoroughly enjoying the Max and Stretch series and then moving on to the Iditarod series. I felt I got to know Alaska up close and personal through her writings, and the world has lost a remarkable author.

Sue, just found out today in Wenatchee paper that you had left us in November. There were three of us classmates whose birthday was the 19th of January 1940. Now I am alone. For eight years we were classmates and were in the same homeroom from the 4th-7th grades and many classes together from 8th-12th then graduating together; the last time we talked was at the 40th year class reunion.MGBY

I had the pleasure to meet you when you would come to the Murder by the Book store in Denver.  I always enjoyed your stories.  I will miss not seeing new stories about Alaska.
