Such a legend, such an icon, now to be placed in the pantheon of stellar African American educators of Virginia. I will fondly remember her elegant presence at West End Elementary and her creative masterpiece, "The Panorama of Science." I still remember the music, dances, and roles that we all played as children to make science come alive. God rest your soul, "Aunt" Laverne. Thank you!
