Chip was a true friend for many years. He was a man who gave so much to so many.  No one who came into contact with him could ever come away without a story to tell. We miss him terribly but the memories will keep us going.

To me, Chip means Cayamo and  so much kindness to Rachel. I'm so grateful  our paths crossed and  included Paved Country, John Prine and Brandi Carlile.  And Susan, of course. Farewell,Chip. Sing on!

A teacher, a mentor, a jokester, a cheerleader, a friend. The kindest person I have ever met. Rest in peace, Chip.

I never had the pleasure of taking a class with Professor Case during my time as a Wellesley student. However, he created a lasting impact by driving me and several other student runners to the start of the Boston Marathon. It was an act of kindness and support that I continue to appreciate 15 years later.

So sorry to learn of cousin Chip's passing. Always looked forward to his trips back to Croton, Ohio in the summer to visit his grandmother. One of my first great adventures was when Chip and I as 12 year olds took a train from Newark, N.J. to Newark, Oh. by ourselves. He will be greatly missed.

Gone too soon. I was a Realtor for 32 years and listened to so many talks given by Carl. He was such an interesting speaker..so intelligent.  He's the one man I have never forgotten. I'm so sorry for your loss. I too experienced my husband's passing 8 months ago so I know first hand how you all feel.

He was a man of boundless enthusiasm, impressive professional accomplishments, and great personal kindness. I feel privileged to have known him.

Long, long ago, always with a sparkle in his eye, Chip taught me to love the intellectual puzzles that economic research could unfold.  He set me on a career path that has been filled with challenging problem solving, and I will be forever grateful.

Chip was a college friend, fraternity brother and fellow traveler (literally, we went to Europe together for 8 weeks in 1996 along with one of Chip's best lifelong friends, Pete Sullivan).  His very  best quality, apart from his smarts and generosity, was you always felt better for having spent time with him. A wonderful guy, a great wife, and a huge loss.

Chip was simply the best, a bright light in my life from 1973 to today (even now, I can feel a light in the darkness from Nov 8); generous, wise, full of life-affirming spirit, the best kind of friend to have. Chip gave me, and so many others, more than I can ever say. A life both great and good: so rare, that. Condolences and love to the family, thank you for sharing him. Rest in peace.
