John was my 1st supervisor at T.N.H. consulting engineers 1976 to 1977. John taught me a great deal about structural engineering. We stayed in contact after he left for CH2MHill. John was positive and passionate about protecting lives with earthquake safety. He was a family friend, but I just recently found about his passing as I no longer live in ANC. My prayers are with his family!
