Though I was sad to read about his death, I smiled to read his beautiful story.  I got to know Jack through Harry Durning, a mutual friend who was also a remarkably wonderful human being.  Jack and I were both wild about Harry and the sublime beauty of the sky.  May his legacy of unfailing good humor and wonder lead many to look up towards the heavens and the God who created them and him.

Very sad to hear of Jack’s passing, but I am now looking to the sky. As always, I will think of him as each beautiful sky reveals itself. Thank you Jack for your gifts to the world.

With great sadness I learned of Jack's passing tonight; just thinking of him an hour or two earlier as I was looking through some of my sky photos and thinking it had been awhile since I heard from him.  When we first met, I told him he didn't have to remind me to look up as I'd always been one of those who had their head in the clouds since I was very young. Deepest sympathy to the family

I recall many wonderful conversations with Jack at the store about the Dodge Dart turning 300,000 miles and he was going to contact Chrysler to see if they wanted to document the mileage. And of course everything about the sky and his "For Spacious Skys" passion. He loved everything he was doing and was always happy and interested in everything. Great memories, he will be missed.

I  have only met Jack through email, but he changed my life when he convinced me to keep a sky journal and write about it. I was walking with my daughter and telling a story about him and I got this weird feeling. I hadn’t heard from him in a while. I am so very sad to hear of his passing, and feel so very lucky, as many do, of his sky influence in my life. More light Jack! More light.

My father, John Day, of Cloudman.com. had the deepest respect for Jack. They took a trip together to a school in Pelican Alaska, strangers except through correspondence, it was like meeting a long lost friend. They were both "sky evangelists",collaborated on the Skywatcher's Cloud Chart for schools. Dad died in 2008 at 95. National Look Up at the Sky Day in Jack's honor is so deserved!!!

So sad to learn of Jack Borden's death nearly a year after his passing.  Jack was a professor of mine at Mount Wachusett Community College in 1974, teaching Public Communications.  He was one of the best teachers I ever had, bringing real life experiences and humor into the classroom whenever he spoke of his times as a newsman at WBZ-TV in Boston.  Such a nice man, a great communicator.

I was speaking with Jan when she and Jack were here in Peterborough on one of their favorite walks, at our dam. She said something and I said "Is that Jack Borden?" She said "Yes" and that was all it took. Jack had given the commencement speech when I graduated from Mount Washusett Community College, last class to graduate on the old campus. After that trip we'd walk together here.

I met Jack @ McDonald's in Lexington. He was incredibly friendly and easy to talk to. He was like a dad to me. Always an empty chair for him. Miss him much!

I remember Jack when I was in high school and good friends with Blair.  He was one of my favorite dads.  One day I was hiking over to Blairs on a snow day...a car came along and covered me from head to tow in slush...when I got to Blairs', Jack met me at the door and realized I was the one he had doused with slush!  He was so sorry but we both had a really good laugh about it!
