Gene leaves behind friends who remember his laugh and great sense of humor. He brought sunshine into everyone's life. He will be missed.

Gene was one of the old gang of the bill abbey vintage.  Man those were the days.  He told me some great stories that gave a great lift when I was down in the dumps.  Along with Angel Sierrra, he will be missed forever.

I first met Gene when I returned to Foothill College after serving in the Marines in 1970.  He was my Recreation Class Professor.  Gene and I hit it off soon after that and I even was an assistant to his weight lifting classes at Foothill.   When my wife and I moved out of the area in 2013 I kept in touch with Gene and his college buddy Jean Franceschi and we'd meet sometimes for a beer.
