Charles was appointed to the Town of Clarkdale's Board of Adjustment in 2015 and served as its Chairman since October, 2016. He presided over his last meeting of the Board just a few months ago. The Town of Clarkdale extends our heartfelt sympathy to Charles's family and friends. His service to our community was greatly appreciated and he will be missed. - Gayle Mabery, Town Manager

I knew Dayton at St. Olaf College and also as a pilot with Northwest Airlines. He was a great guy with a good heart.

Charles spent the last - decade - 15 years - of his life 'stirring the pot' and spreading hatred. And now he's gone. Was it worth it? I'd want to be remembered for being a much better human-being. Sad.
