Dr. Richardson’s generous spirit was never not curious. That vital spirit of his made a room glow for others, because however quiet he seemed outwardly, a few words here, and a nod there, and a knowing smile or a learned reference to his rich reading background would help others become curious, too, and invited anyone and everyone to grow along with him.
Of the many memories I have of David, many of them take place at the dinner table in the house on Queensbury where we would laugh at his elegant and silly wordplay.
To Sarah and family,
I am so sorry for your loss- I admired your father for taking Chinese at a later age , but now learn he was born there
Such a great guy - wonderful teacher ! I send love and condolences Beth Huber
I came across this website when doing research in the biography of Rev. Donald William Richardson who was a Principal of Presbyterian High School in Chinkiang, China, which was my hometown, between 1914 and 1919! I strongly hope to reach his descendants so that I can discuss and consult them. My email is zhongzeli@gmail.com. Looking forward to your reply! George Li at UMich
