A most welcoming and accommodating friend: we would show up at Kathy and Dave's house every mid-Saturday evening after Thanksgiving for one of his sumptuous dinners, to be regaled by his amazing feats, inspired by his hope-filled courage in the face of cancer, and cherished by his rapt attention to each of us; he loved people, especially Kathy and Markie, and he loved life.  Truly epic.
