In the mid 60's Dan coached our El Sobrante Boys Club baseball team. I can't remember how many years he was the coach, or if it was Pony or Colt league,  but he left a lasting impression with me. I appreciate the time he took to teach us the finer points of playing ball.

I truly loved my uncle Dan. He loved all people young and old, he loved his dogs. We would visit uncle Dan and he will make it clear that we never stayed long enough.  I  looked up to him as the father figure that I didn’t have. He taught me how real men treated their wives and children. He treated aunt Fern like the queen that she was. I will truly miss uncle Dan, he was gentle yet very strong
