Corinne Johns-Treat
November 9, 1953 - August 16, 2021

Corinne Johns-Treat passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family in San Jose on August 16. She was born on November 9, 1953 to Millie and Joe Johns in San Francisco and had lived in San Jose for over 50 years.

After graduating from Willow Glen High School, she went on to study Business at San Jose State and later earned her Master's in Management. After working at Xerox and Amdahl, Corinne started her consulting business, Cintam Consulting, which she ran for 30 years. She also taught for the UC extension program for 20 years.
In 1983, she married Harold Treat and had two children whom she adored, Nicolas and Rachel. She treasured the times she spent with family in her favorite places, including Maui, Disneyland, and her beautiful and idyllic backyard that she tended to every day. She also loved music and songwriting, was a captivating story-teller, and the consummate entertainer and hostess to family and friends.

Corinne lived her life with a faithful and compassionate heart, full of strength, generosity of spirit, grace and unconditional love given freely to so many. She was deeply loved in return, and her light, wisdom, sense of humor, and warmth will continue to fill the lives of her loved ones.
Corinne is survived by her husband, Harold Treat; her children, Nicolas Treat and Rachel Kennedy; her sister, Janet Johns; her nephew, Gabriel Johns Robledo; and her cat companion, Izzy. We take comfort in knowing that all of the loved ones that preceded Corinne are celebrating her arrival.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held for Corinne on Saturday 10/2 at 1pm, First Congregational Church of San Jose (1980 Hamilton Ave).

Corinne was such a special friend who never ceased to amaze me with her strength and character. She was my “kindred!” I loved all our time together. Whether we were shopping for cheap treasure, enjoying Lemon Drops, or just chatting about life and our kids, it was always a fun time.

Corinne has been a friend for over 35 years. We worked together and found ourselves pregnant the same year. When our sons were born we started a business together which she kept going for decades. Our friendship will last forever as she is always in my heart and her family will always be in my life and prayers. She was the bravest person I know and a gift to my life and my family’s life

Corinne was inquisitive, smart, a gifted communicator, extraordinarily courageous, and beautiful inside and out.   She was very special to so many friends and family.  I was grateful to be among her close friends. We met at Amdahl when Christie, Corinne and I had offices near each other and found ourselves pregnant at the same time.  Our families celebrated many birthdays, Christmas’s and holidays together as our children grew up.

The most recent shared celebration was Nic and Ashley’s wedding.  Corinne was so happy, beautiful and vibrant that day.  When she was diagnosed with lung cancer (as a non-smoker), she was afraid she would not live to see Nic’s 30th birthday.  With her determination, courage and intelligence in navigating treatment options, and with her family’s daily care and support, she lived to be part of both her children’s weddings and of many other special milestones.  She was even able to take a trip to Europe with Rachel.  She and her sister, Janet, were also an integral part of her mother, Millie’s, life until her passing at age 93.  Corinne’s resilience and vibrancy in the face of cancer treatment amazed everyone who knew her.   She will be remembered with love and adoration and with awe for her strength and bravery.

One has only to spend a little time with Corinne to know that she was so special.  It was so apparent her strength, compassion and talents had a profound impact on her family and friends.  Her absolute love for her family and her ability to accept and love others without judgement will the memory I wiill carry throughout the rest of my life.

Corinne was the only one I know that could laugh at having lung cancer and then brain cancer.  We would go to a restaurant for happy hour and if they said we needed to sit at the bar, she would say "well, I know I don't look like it, but I have brain cancer and I can't sit at those tall tables".   Happily we were always given a booth.  Cor, made me laugh harder then anyone I know.  Always

I met Corinne 50 years ago in our first class at San Jose State, biology.Oh how we laughed! The class introduced 2 people who would be in and out of each others lives over a 50 year span. After 14 years our paths diverted. When we picked up 7 years ago, among other things we celebrated each raising 2 PERFECT children; respectively our most precious life accomplishment. God bless Corinne.
