My condolences to Joan and the Plummer family. Carlton was my teacher, mentor and friend. He influenced my work as an artist and touched my soul as a person. His personality was large and his stories long, but that’s what I loved about him. He shared his life in such a way that I will cherish it for a long time. He will be sorely missed, but I am a better person and artist for knowing him.

Our deepest condolences to Joan and the family. Joan and I were art students in college together while Carlton was teaching Art at Lowell State College/ U LWL back in the 70s. We kept in touch from time to time over the years. Carlton has always been an inspiration to me, and to other students I am sure. I love his book and have sent some to schoolmates. He will be missed. No room........

I just read about Carlton's passing and wanted to extend my condolences to Joan and the family. My trips to Boothbay will never be the same again. It has left a void for me but, I realize that my friend added life and good memories. Everytime my wife and I would visit the area we would stop and see Carlton. I will miss my friend and plan to paint his portrait very soon.
