Really sad news. Donna, I am so sorry for your loss. My life forever changed when I met Bobby in 1992. He had such a strong work ethic. He helped the people around him create things they never thought possible. I'm sure Bobby and Earl are in heaven right now rebuilding the internet. Rest in peace my friend.

Bobby was the person that positively changed my life. The first job I had was with Foundry Networks.Without his generosity I won't be able to survive in the US. May he rest in peace.

Where to even start...Bobby was an amazing leader that cared immensely for his people. He expected a lot from everyone around him, but even more from himself. We joked and had a lot of stories about Bobby, but if he asked you to work 12 hours on a  Saturday, he would be there 16, and another 4 on Sunday likely. Truly one of a kind, we will never forget.

We had many great moments and memories. He was a tough but fair boss, a mentor and my inspiration. Bobby was strong, bold and demanding boss, but he took care of employees and stand up for them. Bobby was quick-witted, smart and unbelievable memory in numbers, dates and names. I am so sorry for your loss Donna. The world lost a great person and many of us lost a dear friend, but never forgotten, always and forever in our hearts. Bobby, RIP.

Donna, my family and I send our deepest condolences. I am so honored to have worked with Bobby at Foundry.  Bobby was a strong leader who really cared for people.  I felt close to him even within a demanding start-up environment.  That closeness is felt just as strongly today and every time I think of Bobby.

If there were a few people that had greatly influenced and shaped my life, Bobby is one of them. I can still remember vividly how he talked confidently and decisively during my job interview. Today if ex-Foundry'ers get together, they will talk about Bobby's generosity, the good old days at Foundry Networks. Bobby, we'll remember you, may your soul rest in peace!

So sorry for your loss, Donna. I met Bobby at Convergent over 35 years ago and we enjoyed a friendship ever since. Bobby's sincerity made people aspire to be their best. As a boss he could be demanding, but always fair - a rare leader. His insight, quick wit, and generosity will be missed. Rest in Peace Bobby.

I'm deeply saddened by the news of Bobby’s passing. My heartfelt condolences go out to Donna and the family. I was blessed to see Bobby in Lunardi’s Los Gatos a few months back. Although I was many/many levels away from Bobby at Foundry, he took a direct interest in what I was doing, how I was doing, questions through passing, etc. Bobby took interest and that made an impact. Rest in piece

We, NC State CompSci, are so proud of Bobby’s accomplishments as a tech icon in the Silicon Valley. He and Donna endowed a number of scholarships here at NC State and their generosity will touch the lives of future students in perpetuity.  I will miss his calls and our philosophical discussions about the direction of our program. My thoughts and prayers are with Donna and his entire family

We were colleagues, though ironically we never worked at the same company (Alnet doesn't count). From Convergent vs Memorex, Tri-Data vs CSI, Centillion vs cisco, and eventually Foundry vs cisco -- I always drew inspiration from Bobby. My friendship with Bobby helped make me who I am today. I will never ever forget him.

Rest in peace, my friend.

Donna, Lorie and I are very sad to hear that Bobby has passed away.  He will be missed by many people.I really enjoyed my time with Bobby when he would host me on my trips to Silicon Valley and the long phone calls we would have just chatting.  I will always remember him as someone that made my day brighter when he shared his thoughts and wisdom.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Bobby created such a wonderful place for us to be apart of. One of my favorite memories is when my mom delivered food from our family restaurant to Foundry. Bobby would see her car pull up and run outside to help her unload and carry the bags in. He was always opening doors for others in one way or another. I am sorry for your loss Donna, my family and I will remember him always.

Donna, I'm so sorry fo your loss. Bobby will live on in many peoples memories. I lost my wife at the start of the year and wanted to leave you with these two quotes that helped me get through the most difficult parts.

"Grief is just love with no place to go."
"If you have a why to live, you can bear almost any how."

Bobby, this took awhile. Simply said, I look up to you a lot. I struggle with this event, you being gone. You’ll always be in my memory, and your teachings (business and life) will always remain as my guide. Bobby, RIP.

Donna, this breaks my heart as I loved Bobby and loved working for him. He taught us all how to succeed as the smaller company conquering the industry giant with every customer we touched. I loved his humor and he was the ultimate competitor in every sense of the word. I will miss him and wish you peace and love until we all meet again!
