My heart is broken.
I see Bernie and hear his ever confident, calming words and my soul weeps. He’s my cousin, and I loved him.  He gave me inspiration to achieve my hearts desire by simply doing my best and be assured that - that would be enough. He had a beautiful heart, and soul. I’ll carry him with me always. I am blessed to have had him as my cousin.

I am heartbroken about Bernie's passing. I've known him since the mid 80s; we worked together for decades for ARCO and then ConocoPhillips. I have great memories of the time we spent together, working, laughing and sometimes arguing! If ever anyone deserves to go to heaven it's Bernie. A truly good and honorable man.
You were loved by many.  Rest in peace my old buddy.

Words can not describe the overwhelming sadness that I felt upon hearing the news of Bernie’s untimely passing. Bernie was the epitome of kindness, caring and giving back to his community.  I will fondly remember all of our good times and his infectious laughter. Our thoughts and prayers are with Debbie, Chris, Tricia and their families.  Till we meet again old friend.

I had the pleasure and the honor of working with Bernie in Alaska for several years. He was a consummate professional who took great pride in his work. As a work colleague, he was always positive and helpful to all. I offer my sincere condolences to his family.

It was just this summer I finally got to meet Bernie when he and my cousin Debbie came to Decatur, Ga. I told him I had waited for almost 45 years to meet him and it was very special!  We enjoyed breakfast and took pictures. It will always remain a lasting memory in my heart that I will cherish.
RIP Bernie I’m so glad we finally met you were a very special man.

I was ao sorry and surprised to learn of Bernie's recent and unexpected passing.  I was lucky enough to get to know Bernie over the 5 years I served with him on the Bean's Cafe board. Bernie was a smart, kind, funny and energetic man.  His passing is not only a huge loss to his wife and children but also to everyone he came into contact with.  Bernie will be missed by all who knew him.
