I was sitting in Prof Teuber’s class on the morning of 9/11 when we found out the towers were hit.  Like everything else, he approached the tragedies of that day with thoughtfulness and honesty. Though not a philosophy major I sought out his classes and lectures. He was a special educator and he will he missed tremendously.

Such a great loss! Andreas was fascinating in his creative questioning of life, art, philosophy and culture. He was mysterious and yet open and a dear friend. I was blessed to have had a long conversation with him a week before he passed and he was very much at peace. He realized, Chris that you actually loved him, as for many years he thought otherwise. The complexities of family karma!

Professor Teuber was one of my favorite teachers at Brandeis. Almost every semester, I made sure to take a class with him, as his sense of humor and vivacious energy were a welcome reprieve from my otherwise grueling coursework. I remember one class, he handed out copies of the women's basketball March Madness bracket with no explanation whatsoever; that was Prof. Teuber. I'll miss him.

Andy (or Wolf, as we called him) was my roommate at Harvard in Adams House in the early sixties, along with Bill Hart. Two brilliant philosophy majors! I recall long evening discussions of arcane philosophical issues with great pleasure. Wolf was a polymath and a wonderful friend. As I dabbled in thespian activities at the Loeb I marveled at his extraordinary talents! I'm sad to see him go

I met Andy at Andover in bull sessions over Beckett and proofs of the existence of god, both good foundations for his life in the theater and in philosophy.  We roomed together one summer at Harvard. he was intensely involved at the Loeb Theater, and I was brain dead from too much organic chemistry.  Our paths diverged, but I always remembered his intensity and internal strength.

I shared rooms in Adams House with Andy Teuber and Nick Spitzer during our junior year at Harvard, and with Andy during our senior year too. Andy and I both concentrated in philosophy. We grew to argue philosophy during those years with increasing intensity. After graduation in 1964, I started graduate work in philosophy at Harvard, while Andy did some graduate study at Oxford and explored theatrical work and politics. We stayed close during those years every time Andy visited his parents in Boston. We grew apart after I finished graduate work in 1969. I’d say Andy was a major influence on me during our years together from 1962 to 1969. He argued fiercely and brought me out of myself. I also learned a lasting love of theater from him.

I first met Andy when I was 2 years old.  Our families knew each other for several generations.  He was always a wily and fascinating, brilliant person, even then.  Chris- Do you read these tributes?  Please get in touch with me.  I only read about Andreas' death this morning and am shocked.
