I’m so saddened to hear of Bill’s passing. I owe him my career of 36 years at WWBT. I was a young, wide-eyed Communications and Film student from Va. Tech who decided to show up cold to the lobby of the television station in the Fall of 1982 and ask to see someone about getting an internship. The receptionist called back and got a hold of Bill and asked if he could come to the front of the building. He did, and Bill proceeded to take me on a 45 minute long tour of the station, encourage me to apply for the internship, and then welcomed me into the evening Production fold in January 1983. He hired me upon my graduation in June 1983, and I’ve been there ever since. Bill was an incredible manager, kind and caring, and one of the best individuals I’ve ever met. The world has lost a wonderful soul, but Heaven has gained one. I offer my sincere condolences to Bill’s family and I hold you all in my prayers.
