Sincere condolences to the Eure family.  Many fond memories working for Bill at WSSV and WPLZ/Petersburg in 1980. When I told Bill I was quitting to work for a bigger radio station in Richmond, he reminded me that I'd once said television was my ultimate goal.  Bill made a phone call, recommending me to the GM at WWBT-TV and made my dream job a reality. Forever grateful for his kindness.

I'm saddened to hear of the passing of my dear friend & mentor Bill Eure. He was one of the BEST who every did it with heart & compassion. I was the 2nd hire when WPLZ Magic 99FM switched from Easy Listening. I became PD & had a unforgettable experience with The Eure Family. We achieve #1 status as the Urban leader in Richmond/Petersburg & stayed there. He & Sue treated us like family! RIP
