Memorial Tributes
Gerry was my best friend in graduate school. And we helped each other prepare for the PhD Qualifying Exam, which we took the same day. We paused during the exam to watch the Kentucky Derby horse race, then we finished our exams. Gerry and I went different directions after grad school, but we always kept in touch as best we could.
