Bill's and my parents lived in a flat together when Viva and my mother, Frances, were both pregnant with us. I was born a month before Bill, and we spent a few happy years together as children. After I moved with my parents to Hayfork, Bill visited us for one summer (probably age 9 or 10). I have many fond memories of that summer, and I have considered him my brother/friend all my life.
Today is Dad's birthday. It's a beautiful spring-like day today. Dad always loved angel food cake for his birthday and I remember many times we would take him one to the fire station to enjoy with the other firefighters.
I miss you, Dad. Happy birthday.
I was allowed to live in Bill Morrill's house for a few days during my first USA vacation in 1979. I met Bill as a very warm and valuable person. I wanted to visit the Morrill family again, but unfortunately I couldn't find an address anymore. Bill, I have always thought a lot about you and your family. For me, you stay alive forever in my memory and in my heart. Your early walking hurts me.
A great person has passed away, but not without leaving traces in our hearts.
One last greeting from Switzerland
