Dear Wesley,
Wherever you are I hope you are at peace.
I knew you when you were a young struggling writer before your first book. You were a joy to have as a friend and a prince of a man.
You saved my life once. I will never forget you.
Love, Helen
Wesley taught me the dance of letting go -- 30 years ago. We were young. I was moving out of my flat on Monument Avenue when he arrived with bubbles. Like a sprite he blew them out of the window, and said now we dance the dance of letting go. Sweet Wesley, dear man who looked down an alley in Richmond and saw a kid walking , shoeless and knew that was the heart of a novel. Bless you.
