I met Scott out of college.  He was so smart and caring, a precious person in my life.  He taught me about the vast universe of birds - he opened my eyes to the world in many ways.  One story others might enjoy is that he sat on his Dad's lap as a child and they would read the encyclopedia together.  I think he retained it all, making updates throughout his life as facts dictated.
