It always hurts when someone so precious to us is taken so unexpectedly. These pictures, and any others you all have, are the memories and stories of a wonderful life lived and a man, filled with love and fun who touched so many lives. Aunt Dianne loves you both.
Gene was a great friend who treated me like a brother. He will be dearly missed, His laughter was infectious. I will always remember the times we shared together, especially when we were at “my course”.
Quick story - I’m a huge Steelers fan and one time during our yearly trip to Myrtle Beach, Gene brings me a Steelers golf shirt from “my course”, Williamsburg National.
Lou, Tommy, Chris,
There are no words to convey how shocked I was at the news of Gene's passing. My heart goes out to you and your families, and of course, his. Time won't make this pain go away but death cannot separate the bond brothers share. Love you guys. Cousin Liz Poole
It was a privilege to know him and a pleasure to be around him.

My dear cousins - I was so sorry to hear from Lou about Gene. I wish I had known him better, but from the tributes and photo gallery, it looks like he had a full and meaningful life. Losing your brother is difficult enough, but especially so since all of you were so close. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this sad, sad time.
I am Gene’s son Shawn mother-in-law and I feel tremendously blessed to have known Gene for the short time that I did. He was a fabulous father and wonderful grandfather. He also was a good friend to my husband David and me. Gene was kind, generous, quiet, and loving. I loved to see him play with Peyton. Gene please know that we love you and miss you until we meet again!
Uncle Gene's passing still does not quite seem real to me. I think that as the holiday season approaches, it will hit all of us much harder. My heart goes out to my cousins Shawn and Melissa, and also to Pam. Uncle Gene really was a special guy. He could always make me laugh. I will miss his smile and his laugh because that is how I always think of him, smiling and laughing.
