Just a little tribute to my mother-in-law, Vivian, who passed away to be with the Lord.
Lorene’s mother, my mother-in-law was gentle towards me from the very moment we met. We met for the first time at a hotel lobby where they were staying while visiting us in Atlanta. As I walked her back to her hotel room to help her carry her items to our car, I noticed Vivian holding a bible in her hand. At that moment, I told her I love reading the Bible too, and that I was a Christian. She immediately warmed up to me, which was a very good thing at the time.
For the pass five years since getting to know Vivian more, we have had numerous conversations about our faith, and she often gave me advice that I hold dear even today. I cherish the laughter, the love, the good and challenging times that I was blessed to share with Vivian.
May God bless her in her new journey with the Lord, and may the peace of God which is beyond human understanding be with her forever more. Amen.
This is one of Vivian's favorite Psalms and she would quote it often...I will always think of her love for God when I read it. You will be greatly missed until we are all together again one bright morning...
[Psa 23:1-6 KJV] 1 [[A Psalm of David.]] The LORD [is] my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou [art] with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
My grandparents are my role models for strength, tenacity and love. I am privileged to be their kin and loved by them, their kids, and my family. My Alaskan grandparents love story and memories from life… I’ll cherish them forever & hope to join and celebrate them together in Heaven.
May she Rest In Peace, Love and miss you Grandma
