This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, VERNON Hanson, 81, born on May 12th, 1935 and passed away on February 19th, 2017.

Vernon Oscar Hanson, passed away on February 19, 2017 in Nampa Idaho.  He was born on May 12, 1935 in Oakland, California to Vernon O. and Helen Lofton Hanson.

Vern grew up and lived in Northern California for most all of his life. He graduated from San Lorenzo High School in 1953.  After high school, he was employed by United California Bank, where he worked for 25 years.

Vern is survived by his loving wife Carolyn who has been by his side for 30 years. He is also survived by his two children Dana, Christine and step-son Brian. Vern also enjoyed spending time with his 5 grandchildren who will miss him dearly.

Vern was a life member of Plesanton Masonic Lodge, F & AM in Pleasanton, CA and Elk Grove Obnisbo Chapter, OES in Elk Grove, CA.

Great joys in his life were sailing, cooking, collecting recipes and sharing a story about his latest restaurant adventure, which might have been in one of the many cities he and Carolyn travelled to over their years of cruising.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to the American Diabetes Assn., American Heart Assn., or the Eastern Star Foundation Scholarship Fund.
