On behalf of all Black Lions everywhere we extend our condolences to Sarah and the entire Coffey family. Vernon was one of a kind and we loved him as our Battalion Commander. We called him the "Black Moses" because he always carried a long stave-like walking stick when he was with us in the jungle. God Bless You Vernon. We miss you already.

Six years seems like such a short time but not if your heart aches for a loved one who has passed away. In a case like that faith must be exercised. The kind of faith that moves mountains. That faith sustained us all through some very dark days in Viet Nam and it also helped to believe in our leaders. We all believed in LTC Coffey.
