Sumner was a profoundly decent, honorable, level, gracious guy, hardly the norm in the sales careers he chose, consumer electronics (Acoustic Research, Allison Acoustics) and then real estate. In CE particularly, he, with partner Roy Allison, set for all a standard of ethics, fairness, and generosity. Sumner was notable in the sense that everyone remarked upon his equable kindness.
