Stu Rist was my chemistry teacher as a Junior at Newton High School in Newton, MA. In my mind we went beyond the typical teacher-student relationship and became friends, with him becoming a mentor for several years. I can still remember his voice both in class & in personal conversations. I will always treasure my memories of him & his first wife Helen. He was my most influential teacher.
