I think Stuart was my oldest friend, that is, the friend who had lived the longest.  He was gentle and ornery, smart and quiet, passionate and calm.  As a theater person, he was professional, devoted, dependable, and caring.  He was a good friend.  And now, one final time, he's waiting for Rita to leave the party.  Be patient, Stuart; as always, it will be awhile.
