Steve was a good man and a great attorney.  He was extremely helpful to me on several occasions.  May he be at peace now with God.

I met Steve when I was about 16, and he was about 14. We were both members of a youth group that had chapters in Natick, where I lived and in Peabody, where he lived. The chapters often had joint events and somehow, I got to know Steve. I lost track of him after high school until one day while I was interviewing candidates for a new position at the law firm I was working at, his resume crossed my desk. We set up an interview and when he came in we basically reminisced about our prior friendship for half an hour or so and then I recommended to the boss that he be hired. We worked together in Boston for awhile until we decided to open Davids and Wollman in Swampscott, where we were partners for almost 40 years. Next to my wife, I spent more time with Steve than anyone else in my life .

Steve was an amazing lawyer. His knowledge of the law was really quite remarkable. I can’t even count the number of times I would saunter down to his office and ask for a statute citation or for a case on point to something I was working on. He always knew. He did some teaching, but mostly he was a litigator, specializing in family and child protection law. He was a mentor to many lawyers coming up in the field (and many practicing even longer than he).

But beyond his practical lawyering skills, Steve was the most ethical and honest lawyer I have known. He had a great passion for representing children in need. He never cut corners, always going the extra mile for his clients.

Steve’s passing is a great shock and a great loss. We closed our practice a little over four years ago but I have kept Steve in my heart and mind ever since. I will now keep him in my memory as well. Rest in peace, partner.

Steve has been my neighbor for the last 48 yrs when my late husband and I moved into the neighborhood across from his family home. His parents and brother welcomed us into the neighborhood. Over the years Steve became our lawyer. In the last months Steve called upon me for  a neighbor`s helping hand. My deepest sympathy to Nora and the family. Rest in peace in God`s ever lasting light.
