Please NOTE:  due to identity theft, we opted not to include Steve's real birthdate.  Of course, he would think this is incredibly hilarious!  Please share your thoughts, stories, quotes, experiences, feelings, and messages to our family. Thank you for your support and for your love of Steve. XOXOX

I only worked with Steve on and off over a year or so, but found him be one of the most inspiring souls I have every worked with. He had such passion and ability to do the highest-quality work, held the best ideals, and blended it all with a playful, lighthearted spirit. It was such an honor to know him.

I worked with Steve and I loved his enthusiasm and willingness to help out, no matter how busy he was.  He always made time to be helpful.  At the end of his emails he always wrote, "take care," or "cheers."  Business to him meant helping people.  Thanks Steve, for your support.  Take care.

I was lucky enough to go on two Climate Rides with Steve raising money for Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition, a cause we both believed in. He was so wonderful to be with - always upbeat, supportive, and strong. He was one of the fastest riders but would ride slower with me to help me along. One day when he knew I was tired he reached camp early and put my tent up for me. So sweet!

Steve was so amazing. He was one of the most intelligent people I have ever met. On almost any subject, Steve could tell you something that you didn't know. He truly was a Renaissance man, with a deep knowledge of  computers, art, politics, music, history, the natural world. But what I will remember is a man with an extraordinary heart. He shared his time & talents every day with everyone.

I can't believe it's 3 years since Steve left us. I often feel his presence  - especially riding the bike path at night home from work, as he did so many times. In the dark, you can't see anybody's faces - just a line of white lights, stretching down the path. Thank you for shining a light in our lives, Steve.

Steve loved nature; his photographs are testimony to this. When I told him about the National Geographic series, he was curious, but he did not own a TV. So he looked it up on the web, and I could here him chuckling over the cube wall over the Arctic foxes diving into the snow to catch a meal and wonder at the hawks in Arizona that hunted in families. I'm glad that he got to enjoy these!

My life is better, every day, because I was fortunate enough to hang out with Steve, ride with him, learn from him, be inspired by him, and most of all, be loved by him.  I think of him often, typically when outdoors, looking up at the sky, or when riding.  His presence is calming, and I always smile.

I met Steve through my cousin who worked for Steve at his bicycle shop in Maryland.  Steve built three bicycles for me .. all very specialized .. even to the point of customizing components.  Steve's love for cycling and "how things work" drove me to become ever more involved with the sport.  While we exchanged several emails, I never got out to California to ride with him.  Love you Steve

I met Steve through his bike shop in Maryland and got to know him over the years.  We stayed in touch after he moved to California and he came back to visit a few times.  Like others have said, I thought he was brilliant, curious, always willing to help others, loved the outdoors, and was always fun to be around.  I considered Steve to have been my best friend.  Probably, others also did.
