I wonder if anyone is willing to share their memories about Coach Dowell with me. I would like to nominate Coach Dowell for the Independence High School Sports Hall of Fame. I am really trying to get information on his work on the track at IHS. Today's date is August 20. I would like to get this in as soon as possible. Thanks! Urla Hill

I briefly met Coach Dowell as a treating physician.  I quickly picked up on his enthusiasm inherent in most great coaches.   Amazingly he lent me the Olympic gold medal that 2x world record holder and internationally renowned coach and humanitarian Lee Evans had given to Stanley.  I felt on top of the world that week
