This memorial site was created in memory of Louis Mogul, 94, born in 1926 and passed away in May 2020. No matter how you knew him, we are sure that you'll remember him as we did, as the gentle, keenly intelligent, curious, principled, compassionate man who combined equal measures of outrage at Donald Trump and delight at Shakespeare, frescoes, and his friends and family. We loved him and will miss him terribly but are grateful for the years we had with him.
I will always remember and cherish this gentle,kind,and dedicated Physician who was my Psychoanalyst many years ago. I credit our work together, challenging as it was rewarding, with making my marriage and my becoming a psychoanalyst possible!!
Half way through graduate school I became a control patient as Dr. Mogul began his psychoanalytic practice. A sociologist, I have found my inner work connecting in crucial ways to my outer work--both teaching and scholarly contributions. I learned free association and dream analysis from my time with Dr Mogul, whom I found compassionate, brilliant, and wonderfully effective.
