So sorry to hear of Mr. Ralph’s passing. He was our Reverend at Christ Church as well as Mayor.  I remember stuffing mailboxes with his political cards & the pizza parties afterwards. In 2002 when I got married, Mr & Mrs Ralph came to Nantucket and he performed the ceremony dubbing the island “Somerville by the Sea” He was very intelligent and had a great sense of humor. He will be missed.

I was a young girl when S. Lester Ralph campaigned for Mayor in Somerville and won. Born and raised in Somerville I listened to the endless wisecracks and insults.   Slumerville, where the good old boys served themselves. In 1976 Somerville won ALL AMERICAN CITY. In 2019 it made “Top 100 Cities to Live In”. S.Lester Ralph is where it all began. An honorable Man. God Bless him.
