The world lost a good man yesterday. Always positive and upbeat, even when he moved into assisted living. His enthusiasm for life was contagious and time spent with him always left a smile on your face. He loved his family, friends and the Hokies! Godspeed Mac.
Mac Duke was one of kind. His positive outlook on life, family and friendship was infectious to all that knew him. His service to the community and especially the American Cancer Society was unparalleled. It is time for us to now carry Mac's torch and spirit into making the world a better place. Rest in peace my friend. Tom Peters
Mr. Duke was a great man and always so nice to me. I remember him as active and personable...outgoing and very engaged with his family. What a fun and caring person. He will be greatly missed.
For the man who never knew a stranger, rest in peace. Mac was the man who could find a direct connection within minutes of meeting anyone. He was genuinely interested in really knowing a new person and never forgot a name. The last time I spoke with him was on his birthday. I called to hear from him and he immediately turned the conversation towards me. What a caring man! Miss you already.
THE ENTIRE VA. BEACH RWSGA ( RED WING SENIORS GOLF ASSN. ) WISHES TO EXPRESS OUR SINCERE CONDOLENCES TO THE FAMILY OF MAC DUKE. WE ALL REMEMBER MAC WITH HIS HOKIE GOLF BAG AND HOKIE GOLF SHIRT WHEN HE WAS PLAYING GOLF WITH US A FEW YEARS AGO...MAC IS NOW A HOKIE FOR THE AGES - GOD SPEED MAC.
Mac was my cousin. Although I didn't get to see he and Dotty as much as I would have liked, when we were with him he always made us feel good and, as someone else said, you couldn't help leaving with a smile on your face. He was a wonderful person who will be missed. Carney and I along with my brother Dick send our most sincere condolences to Dotty and the entire family. Luv ya, man!
