Rosemary and I met about 3 years ago while she was walking the grounds at the former Medfield State Hospital and I was tending the sunflower garden. Her warmth, curiosity and genuine interest in the cultural plans (including expansion of gardens!) made us fast friends and mutual fans...her light shined bright every time we met and I'll remember her when we plan the garden again in June.
I met the beautiful and kind Rosemary Sortor in fall 1975 when my parents and I visited the Sortors' home in Sherborn right before I started as a freshman at Dartmouth. Debbie and I were assigned as dorm roommates, which was one of the greatest miracles of my life. Dr. and Mrs. Sortor could not have been more kind and caring to me over the years. They were like second parents to me.
