I met Roger through Monterey County Training Officers in the late 1970's and have considered him a mentor and friend since. Fire Captain, Roger Brown was well known and respected, a no non-sense person that would help anybody who asked and he helped many along the way.

Ron Zeise who  worked with Roger at PGFD once told me that Roger told him;

“We each have a responsibility to pass along what we learn and experience to  the next generation of firefighters”.  I never forgot that and have tried to fulfill that promise  over my 32-year fire service career. Thank you Captain Brown for setting an example for  others to attempt to replicate, you made a difference for many people in the fire service and of course the community you served.
